See fall foliage: red, gold, russet, burgundy – the impressive colors of the changing leaves. Nowhere does Mother Nature put on a more spectacular show than in New Hampshire. In fact, the Granite State is one of New England’s most popular fall foliagedestinations.
In addition to the spectacular foliage that is expected this fall (due to all the summer rain), New Hampshire Division of Travel and Tourism Development have expanded and updated their Wine & Cheese Itinerary (in partnership with the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture, Markets and Food).
Visitors can combine a leaf-peeping excursion with a Wine & Cheese Tour in any part of the state. The Kancamagus Highway, Moose Alley, Prospect Mountain Road Scenic Byway and “The River Valley Run” are among the top places to view the kaleidoscope of color. “Visitors can also experience the spirit of the fall harvest season at one of New Hampshire’s many agricultural fairs and festivals,” said Gail McWilliam-Jellie, Director of New Hampshire’s Division of Agricultural Development. “With agricultural events, rides, crafts, old fashioned games, shows and much, much more, there’s sure to be something for the whole family to enjoy and a great way to share the natural splendor of New Hampshire’s vibrant autumn colors.”
