Schonbrunn Palace

By Isabelle 2 Comments

When visiting Vienna and you have that little bit of extra time, go out to see Schonbrunn Palace. It`s only a 25 minutes from the city center. Some compare this to the Versailles in Paris and I can see the resemblance.

The gardens and palace have been the location for various movies, such as the Sissi trilogy in 1950s. On a sunny day it`s a lovely place to just wander in the gardens.

Practical information

To get there, you can take the underground: U4, Schönbrunn station.

I just visited the gardens and didn`t went into the Palace. The gardens open at 9 am and close at 5 pm (July & August till 6 pm). For more details on the opening hours of the Palace, Gloriette, … see here.

The gardens are free to enter. If you want to visit the Palace, there are tours that start at the price of 10.50 euros/adult*. For more info on the different tours, check www.schoenbrunn.at.

I was invited to Vienna by the Vienna Tourism Board, as always opinions are my own.

What a wonderful palace and definitely on my bucket list when I finally make it to Austria! Did you see the the Vienna New Year’s Day concert? A lot of the performances were inside this palace and from that moment on, it moved up up to the top of my bucket list! Thx for bringing back those wonderful memories!
