When you think about Formula 1, you think about speed, noise and umbrella girls. A guys thing, right? Well, girls think again.
I got invited by Land of Valencia for my first Formula 1 experience in Valencia. I`d never attended a race before and didn`t know what to expect. What I did notice straight away, is that we had great seats, right at the start and across from the garages.
Heh, did I just see a driver? And girls have you noticed the drivers! Before this event started I had no idea who was racing for which team, but I got hold of a F1 guide with more details AND pictures of the drivers…
Just to name a few:

Mark Webber (Who unfortunetaly crashed, but was okay… thank god!)

Some things I learned about Formula 1 while attending this great event:
- The day before the big race, they have qualifying rounds to see who`s fastest and will have pole position at the start.
- If you have good seats, like we did, you can see the drivers in their car up close.
- Bring earplugs!
- During the race when a crash happened, the yellow flag signaled all cars that the drivers must slow down and the safety car appeared. When this car appears no car may enter the pit lane and no overtaking is allowed. At the end of the caution period, the safety car leaves the track and the competitors may resume racing.
When I look back at my first F1 experience I have to say I liked the start of the race the best. You can feel the excitement going through the crowds when the engines start and noise becomes overwhelming but thrilling!
Before and after this great event, we stayed at the Melia Valencia Hotel which has a perfect location if you want to attend the F1 or if you want to visit the City of Arts and Sciences, because it`s only a short walk from the hotel.
