”A way of life or style of living that reflects the attitudes and values of a person or group.” That`s what you find when you Google the word ‘Lifestyle’.
I got a first impression of the lifestyle in Mieming during my two day stay in Tirol. You can read about e-biking and hiking in part 1. Now on to more fun activities in Mieming:
Golf
I have to admit I never played golf before, except from the occasional mini-golf as a child of course. So, this was a first for me.
A confession… apparently I`m not good at golf. While the others were swinging away with their club, I was trying to hit the ball. But lucky for me the view of this golf course is impressive, so I enjoyed it anyway. Where else can you play golf while being surrounded by snow covered mountains?
Fishing
Another new experience and to my relief, one I was good at!
Fun Fact: The gathered fish was our dinner, which was rather cool.
Spa and Relaxation
Last, but not least we also got the opportunity to relax at the Spa of Hotel Schwarz. It had everything you expect from a spa and more. Again being in the middle of the scenery I described before, you can only count your blessings when you`re in a hot tub, overlooking the Mieming Plateau and mountains in the background.
One of my favorite moments was in the Mental Oasis, which was a darkened room with in the middle a special light that changed colors and you could hear soothing music playing in the background. The special thing about this room was these little cocoons for you to sit or lay in.
When walking in the serene surrounding of the spa, I couldn`t help noticing all the quotes painted against the walls or in frames. Like this one from Lao Tzu:
“Be Content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.”
I did feel revived and relaxed, as one would expect from a visit to a spa.
We stayed overnight at two lovely hotels. The first one, Hotel Kaysers which I liked because of its gastronomy and rather remarkable bathrooms.
Yes, a Sissi bathroom. The guys had a Franz-Joseph one!
The second one, Hotel Holzleiten, impressed me because of its location and friendly staff. The room is designed that when you wake up in the morning, this is your view…
And then I haven`t even told you about the delicious breakfast, the nice interior, the spa area and the swimming pool. This is a hotel I can see myself coming back to for a nice getaway! (And if you`re into doing some fitness, they offer stretching, gymnastics… I did a Qi Gong class, which is a Chinese system of physical exercises and breathing control related to tai chi.)
My advice when visiting the lovely Innsbruck take your car for half an hour outside the city and visit the elegant Mieming region and be part of the “LifeStyle”.

Special thanks goes out to Petra of Mieminger Plateau for being one of the best hosts on a blogtrip! Also thanks to Travel Bloggers Unite, Innsbruck Tourism and Tirol Tourism for inviting me and sponsoring this trip. All opinions, as always, are my own.
