The Sydney Opera House is a multi-venue performing arts center, designed by a Danish architect named Jørn Utzon. He received the Pritzker Price – architecture`s highest honor – in 2003. The citation stated:
It is one of the great iconic buildings of the twentieth century, an image of great beauty that has become known throughout the world – a symbol not only of a city but of a whole country and continent. ~ Pritzker Prize Jury
This iconic building touches everyone’s soul, whether it is by its shape or its size. On my previous trip I remember seeing the Sydney Opera House up close and what an impact it had on me. You`re standing there, feeling small in comparison to this massive building. Apparently I`m not the only one 🙂 There was a whole wall with words of visitors describing what the Opera House means to them.
It was nice to read people`s feelings expressed…
Sydney Opera House reminds me of being in a boat as a child with the winds in the sails. ~ Julia Stone
Always surrounded by tourists, it feels like every day is a party. ~ Juliana Penteado
Whenever I come back from overseas, the minute I see Sydney Opera House, I know I`m finally home. ~ Kate Schlipalius.
It`s the heart of the city and each day that I see it, it reminds me of how happy I am to live in Sydney. ~ Claire Gould
I feel comfortable under the sails, where dreams are seen and believed. ~ Mackridge Mountain
For me it represents “possibility” and “dreams”. Being able to stand in front of this special building, knowing I had the “possibility” to travel to the other side of the world, fulfilling my “dream” of discovering this part of the globe.

I hope to go there someday Isabelle, but honestly, I’m not sure it can compare to your photos. Thanks for posting those.
