Review of Western Caribbean cruise

By Isabelle Leave a Comment

With this review I hope to help you decide if going to the Western Caribbean is your dream cruise!

Carnival Cruise Lines is known as the ‘fun’ ships and that they are! People on these ships are usually a younger audience. Also a lot of families, depending on the season (spring break, summer) you’re traveling.

Cruise ship: Carnival Cruises ‘Imagination’

Port of departure: Miami (FL). This cruise was 8 days with 3 days at sea. I thought that was a nice ratio to both enjoy the port of calls and to enjoy all the facilities the ship has to offer.

Ports

  • Cozumel, Mexico
  • Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
  • Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Excursions

Cozumel

Here we just visited the port of Cozumel. This cruise was already a few years ago, so I don`t know how the safety is these days.

GOOD ADVICE: visit the Mayan Ruins of Tulum! I never did, because it’s a long trip and you have to get off the ship early in the morning. Well, it was vacaction, you know. 🙂 But trust me, afterwards, it’s not so obvious to go back to Mexico to visit the Ruins. So, I still regret I didn’t do it.

Grand Cayman

Here I mad the trip to Seven Mile Beach. This is a beautiful beach with beach chairs for your use and there fore a perfect beach getaway. Afterwards you can have a look in the many shops at the port.

Ocho Rios

This was a very nice excursion: Climbing Dunn’s River Falls, going to a beautiful, botanical garden and in the meantime seeing the scenery of Jamaica. For your own safety, it’s best to book a tour at this island.
