Once a year the city of Girona transforms into a paradise for flower lovers. During the 3rd week of May, flowers decorate this vibrant city and make it even more beautiful than it already is. I overheard this about Girona: “Girona is a city but it feels like a village, because of the friendliness of the locals who welcome you with open arms.”
And walking around this city I understood what they were saying. During Tiempo de Flores inner squares, churches and streets are decorated with colorful flowers. The fragrance of the flowers welcomes you while you stroll through the streets and radiates its beauty.
Girona is beautiful all year round. It`s a lovely daytrip from Barcelona. For example the train ride from Barcelona takes less than 2 hours. The Girona airport is also very close to the city, if you want to fly over for a few days. The airport is only a 15 minutes bus ride into the city.
Special thanks to Nikon for letting me test the AF-S DX Nikkor 18-200 mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED VRII camera lens.
I was invited on this trip by Costa Brava Tourism and flights sponsored by Tourist office of Spain. However the opinions of this post are my own.
