Travel Diary
The first day of my cruise was a day at sea. Okay, I did forget to bring sweatpants or something comfy to walk around in that`s warm enough, besides a pair of jeans. Not at the Caribbean quite yet! – what was I thinking 😉 –
So a good tip, if you`re leaving from higher up (NY, Boston,…) down to the Caribbean, especially in the winter, bring some comfy close to walk around in aboard the ship. You can`t wear your summer stuff until you`re closer to the Caribbean.
Time to `explore` the boat.
My ship was called `Explorer of the Seas`. This ship has a Royal Promenade, a Rock Climbing wall, and even an ice-skating rink! Golf course, Sports court, Inline skating track,… I`ve put together a slideshow to show you a bit around the boat 🙂
And if you get hungry from all that running around, not to worry, there`s always somewhere you can eat! Either the WindJammer Café, Island Grill or Café Promenade. You can have dinner at the Dining Rooms and Portofino.
To know what`s going on during the day, there is the Cruise Compass. This is like your onboard newspaper with all the activities of the day. You can find the entertainment of the evening, tips, things you don`t want to miss out on. A daily planner with the activities of the day, like where there is a trivia going on or where there is music playing,… You will find the Cruise Compass each night in your cabin, left there by your Room Steward.
I choose a Royal Promenade cabin. This is an inside cabin with a huge window overlooking the Royal Promenade.
