This wasn`t my first time in Capri, but it had been several years, so I was happy to be back! Before we left from Sorrento the owner of the Bed & Breakfast where we were staying gave some tips. One of them was making a boat trip around the island. So when we arrived in Capri, we bought a ticket for an island boat tour. (This was 14 euro* for a 1 h 45 minutes boat ride.)

After the boat trip we wanted to see the center of Capri, because you have some lovely views from up there. You can choose different ways to get there. Walking up there by using steps, 800 meters uphill (that accordingly to a lovely lady, who gave us directions, takes you 30 minutes). Or you can take a shuttle bus for 1.50 euro/person*. Or the “funicolare” (funicular railway) which is 1.40 euros/person*. (If you take this, you have also a nice view)
When you get to the center of Capri, you have lots of designer boutiques, gift shops and restaurants. It was lunch time when we got there, so we went for… pizza! We found a nice restaurant, Da Giorgio, which served us a very good pizza and the view from our table was beautiful.
Delicious! And with this view…
After lunch, we had a nice walk through the tiny streets of Capri. The shops are expensive, as this is where the beau-monde shops. Of course we had a gelato as dessert, you`re in Italy after all!
We took the “funicolare” back down to the harbor to catch our ferry. Be on time, as there are a lots of people taking the ferry back at the end of the day and you don`t want to miss your boat. (Well, there are worse places to get stuck of course!)
After getting back to Sorrento, we decided to drive the Amalfi Coast, because tomorrow we`re leaving for Satriano in the south of Italy, in Calabria.
