London is a wonderful city to visit, whether for a short weekend getaway or a longer stay. The city boasts every kind of shop, restaurant, hotel and entertainment that you could imagine, so there is always something to see, do and eat.
For those who want to splurge, London is the place to be. The capital attracts some of the world’s biggest spenders and top-name celebrities, but you don`t have to be one of them to indulge in a bit of luxury.
Shopping
Mayfair offers exclusive shopping with brands like Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney, Louis Vuitton and many more. Or stop by at Harrods that caters for absolutely anything you could wish to purchase. If they don’t have it there you can be sure they will find it for you if you have the appropriate credit limit.
Food
Many celebrity chefs have restaurants in London, think Jamie Oliver who runs Fifteen, a trendy and quirky place, full of celebs. The menu is Mediterranean and profits go towards teaching the trainee chefs. For those who do not mind their meals with the odd swear word, Gordon Ramsay’s flagship restaurant on Royal Hospital Road is an excellent choice. Elegant and immaculate it is the ultimate French eatery. Looking for more inspiration? Here`s a list of Michelin-starred restaurants in London.
Champagne Bar
There is nothing more decadent than sipping Champagne, so head to one of London’s many luxury bars and indulge yourself in a bottle or two. Champagne + Fromage is a French shop-cum-bistro in Covent Garden and, as the name suggests, focuses on fizz and cheese.
Afternoon Tea
Afternoon tea is the height of sophistication, especially when enjoyed at one of London’s top hotels. Head to The Ritz, The Savoy, The Langham or The Dorchester and be sure to dress to impress. Afternoon tea is usually accompanied by a live musician, often playing the piano or the harp, so sit back, relax and sip away.
