I just came back from a trip to Austria and this was what I kept seeing: “There are no kangaroos in Austria”, a good thing my next trip is to Australia so I can see some kangaroos! – Yeah, not sure why the Austrians have souvenirs with this all over the cities, but apparently it`s funny –
I`m happy to announce I`m going back to the Northern Territory. Last year I visited Uluru and it was such an inspiring trip. This time I`ll be visiting Darwin, a must visit in 2012 according to Lonely Planet.
On my itinerary a visit to the Mindil Beach Sunset Markets, Crocosaurus Cove, Aboriginal Art, … and the main event will be the Darwin Beer Can Regatta. The Beer Can Regatta is a main boat race between boats built out of beer or soft drink cans. This will be interesting to watch, so make sure you follow #ITinDarwin for updates!
I will extend my stay with a visit to Melbourne and Perth, two cities I haven`t seen yet. My first trip to Australia was just after High School and included a journey from Sydney to Cairns with a flight to Adelaide to visit a friend. Even though it will be Winter when I`m there, I`m looking forward to a bit of holiday. I know this sounds strange from someone who`s always traveling, but travel and holiday are two different things.
It`s also a special trip as I`ll learn more about the region my boyfriend grew up in. This Summer vacation I`ll catch up on reporting about my recent travels, work on my new website for #BeachThursday (Have you checked it out yet? You should!) and relax a bit with a good read.
Where are you going for your Summer vacation? And what are you most looking forward to?
Note: my trip to Darwin is on invitation of the Northern Territory.

Haha, that’s a funny sign. It remind me of the 90’s comedy Dumb and Dumber: “Put another shrimp on the barbie!”

According to the tour guides, there are no kangaroos in the ‘Top End’, either … apparently, they don’t range that far north. Plenty of wallabies, though … and crocodiles!
